Fear of snow

When designing this look for my final major project I wanted to show the pain and fear of frostbite. Frostbite develops in stages, firstly being frostnip, followed by superficial frostbite and ending in deep frostbite. This look was created to emulate deep frostbite which affects all layers of the skin. As the tissue begins to die the skin will turn black and feel numb. The areas primarily affected are the fingers, toes, ears and nose.

This look used third degree to mimic the black tips of the fingers freezing off and rigid collodion on the black parts of the face. Using both of these products created a more realistic look and adds extra depth rather than just painting on the skin.

For additional effects hot glue was melted to mimic icicles and baking soda was mixed with conditioner to create snow. Including both of these elements helped transform this into a finished makeup look which tells a story.
